The Oskaloosa baseball team and McLouth softball team each swept their counterpart as the two rival county schools matched off Monday.
The Bears baseball team defeated the Bulldogs, 3-2 and 12-9, behind the pitching of junior Boone Heston and sophomore Adam Paavola. The Bears also split a doubleheader with Doniphan West March 29 as the Bears won the opener, 7-3, but lost the second game, 12-10.
The Bulldogs softball team blanked the Oskaloosa team twice in two games with wins of 6-0 and 12-0.

Eleven countians named to all-DVL basketball
Eleven county high school basketball players were recently selected to the all-Delaware Valley League basketball teams.
Among girls, McLouth freshman Missy Rome and Oskaloosa sophomore Nicole Rockhold were unanimous first-team selections; Valley Falls junior Rebekah Bunde and Jefferson County North freshman Mallory Grand Pre were first-team selections; and Valley Falls senior Katie Brevitz and Oskaloosa senior Carol Allen received honorable mention.
JCN senior Wes Weishaar and Oskaloosa junior Brock McGinnis were unanimous first-team selections on the boys’ side while JCN senior Drew Kraxner and McLouth senior Andrew Booth were also first-team picks. McLouth senior Trevor Keling received honorable mention.
