Boys
Perry-Lecompton 60, Santa Fe Trail 39
• The Kaws blew open a 5-point halftime lead to improve to 10-6. Senior Brian Hastert led the Kaws with 12 points while sophomore Joel Gantz and junior Caleb Denton scored 11 each and sophomore Andy Bowman scored 10.
Wathena 46, JCN 38
• The Chargers were dug into a 6-point hole after one quarter but came back to take a 2-point lead into the fourth quarter before Wathena got the win. JCN moved to 8-6. Senior Daniel Finley scored 14 points and senior Wes Weishaar scored 12 in the loss.
Hiawatha 53, Jefferson West 45
• The Red Hawks scored the first 16 points of the second half to surge ahead from a tie score at halftime and drop West to 6-9. Junior Tom Shirley scored 18 points and senior Derek Helton added 11 for West.
McLouth 62, Oskaloosa 49
• McLouth took a 7-point lead after one quarter and was able to pull away in the second half to win by 13 and drop Oskaloosa to 2-11. McLouth moved to 6-7. Senior Andrew Booth led the Bulldogs with 27 points and 14 rebounds while junior Mark Stewart added 13 points in the win. Oskaloosa was led by 15 points from sophomore Chase Tenpenny, 13 points from junior Derek Brey and 11 points from junior Brock McGinnis.

• The Dragons dropped to 0-14.
Girls
McLouth 46, Oskaloosa 42
• The Bulldogs avenged a Jan. 27 loss to the Bears in the JCN tourney by running to an 8-point lead entering the final quarter and holding off Oskaloosa. McLouth moved to 6-8 while the Bears dropped to 7-6. Senior Rachael Thompson scored 15 points and freshman Missy Rome scored 14 for McLouth. Junior Emily Heston scored 15 points for Oskaloosa in the loss.
Jefferson West 57, Hiawatha 46
• West improved to 6-10 with the win.
Santa Fe Trail 55, Perry-Lec. 34
• The Kaws were down only 3 points at halftime but Trail ran away with the game in the second half. The Kaws moved to 5-11. Sophomore Ashleigh Allam scored 9 points to lead Perry-Lecompton.
KC Christian 46, Valley Falls 37
• KCC blew open a 3-point halftime lead with an 11-4 third-quarter advantage and held off the Dragons to win by 9 to drop Valley Falls to 4-11. Senior Katie Brevitz scored 15 points and junior Rebekah Bunde added 14 in the loss for Valley Falls.
Wathena 41, JCN 30
• North dropped to 4-11 as Wathena grabbed control early and didn’t give it up. Freshman Mallory Grand Pre led JCN with 8 points.
